Love Does Not Boast

Someone who is comfortable with who they are and the skills they have or do not have does not need to boast. Other people will recognize them for what they can do through their actions. Most of the time, people who have to remind others of how “good” they are at something aren’t actually as good as they think or are attempting to make themselves look better.

The good news is that we are awesome! God created us with amazing bodies and cognitive skills. We as people are able to use tools and problem solve. We have come up with some amazing solutions to living on earth.

The even better news is that we are made in God’s image. We were created to be in likeness of God and we have a spirit inside of us that longs for the eternal. God wants to adopt us. If we believe in Jesus’ sacrifice, we are able to become children of God, we can serve a risen king, and we can sit at the right hand of Jesus.

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:6

The best news of all is GOD LOVES US! We do not need to boast about anything. We are secure in who we are and what we have. Others will see it and want what we have and we can share with them freely because God loves them too.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

1 John 3:1

Love makes us secure. Love helps us be humble. As Paul so nicely put it in 1 Corinthians 13, love does not boast.
